THE IMMACULATE MOTHER PAROCHIAL SCHOOL

The school offers the Kenya national curriculum CBC, integrated with the transformative Socratic methods of teaching. A school founded by KCADOR.

 

INTRODUCTION

The school was started in May 1999 by the late Fr Charles Moses Mwanzia who was the Parish
Priest at St Patricks Eldama Ravine Catholic Church then. He started with a Vision ‘TO BE A
CENTRE OF ACADEMIC, MORAL AND SPIRITUAL EXCELLENCE’ The pioneer class had
20 pupils in the nursery section which offered Montessory system. More joined and the number
rose to about 50 pupils.
The first Montessory teacher was teacher Felister followed by teacher Anne. With increase of the
population more teachers and workers were employed. At that time Fr Mwanzia served as the
Headtecher of the school at the same time the Parish Priest.
The first class eight candidates sat for their KCPE in the year 2008. In the year Joan Jemutai
Chumba from The Immaculate Mother Parochial School was the leading candidate in Baringo
County with 426 mark and joined Kenya High School Nairobi.

In academic spheres the school have produced a good number pupils who have joined National
schools. Kenya High, Pangani, Nakuru High, Kapsabet Boys just but to mention fa few. At the
moment we have Mark Mwandawiro who is persuing Aeronatical Engineering, 3rd year in
Technical University of Kenya (TUK); Loreen Jelagat in her 3rd year taking Brchelor of
Medicine in Pharmacyat the University of Nairobi; Kevin Kiprono doing Barchelor of Science
Degree in Medicine; Trevor Chumba Taking Computer Science Degree in University of Nairobi
among others.
The school has had a number of Headtechers; Fr Charlse Mwanzia, Mr John Kohoro, Mr Peter
Mukholi, Mr Altoh Main Kibet, Madam Dorris Maiyo, Mr Erick Ichingwa and Currently Sr
Viola Chumo. The deputies are; Tr Emily, Sr Anisia, Mr Kabete, Sr Mary Kinyua, Mr Kabete
and Mr Thuku who is currently serving.
The school has grown to have a double stream from Nursery to class 8 except the Grade 7 with
only one stream. Currently the school has a population of 488 learners, 30 teachers and 20
support staff.

 

The school is committed to offering high quality education and spiritual nourishment under the
motto ‘CONSECTRATE THEM IN TRUTH’.
The Immaculate Mother Parochial School is managed by the catholic diocese on Nakuru (CDN).
The CDN appoints the Board of Management and currently we have Fr Francis Chepkuto
(Administrator) Madam Loice Onyango (Chairperson), Fr Francis Mugo (Academic
Chairperson), Fr Francis Mumo (CDN Education Secretary) Sr Viola Chumo (Secretary), Mr
Sternley Mwaura, Mr Simon Peter Wambugu, Fr Fredrick Kooro(CDN).
