ST. BENEDICT’S SCHOOL OF PEACE-ARROR
OUR MOTTO:
EDUCATION AND SPIRITUAL LIFE
The statement reflects the core values and philosophy of St. Benedicts SCHOOL
POF PEACE ARROR, emphasizing a harmonious integration of education,
spirituality, and morality in the learning environment. Here’s a more detailed
explanation:
Maxim: “Education and Spiritual Life“
This highlights the dual focus of the institution: intellectual development and
spiritual growth. The school prioritizes nurturing the mind through quality
education while fostering a deep connection with spiritual and moral values. The
belief is that true education shapes both character and intellect.
“We are a church before we are a school”
This expresses the idea that the school views itself primarily as a faith-based
community rooted in spiritual teachings. By placing spiritual principles at the
forefront, the school aims to create a foundation where values such as
compassion, honesty, discipline, and service to others guide both teaching and
learning.
Mission: “To show people light through education that embraces
spiritual and moral standing”
The mission emphasizes:
1. Illumination through Education: Education is seen as a pathway to
enlightenment, empowering individuals to lead productive and
meaningful lives.
2. Spiritual and Moral Foundation: The school seeks to produce well-
rounded individuals who not only excel academically but also embody
strong ethical principles and spiritual awareness. These qualities are viewed
as essential for creating a positive impact in society.
In essence, St. Benedicts Arror aims to educate students holistically, fostering
knowledge, faith, and integrity, ensuring they grow in
A Guiding Principle of St. Benedicts Arror School of Peace
A Guiding Principle of St. Benedicts Arror School of Peace
At St. Benedicts Arror School of Peace, our slogan, “Ora et
Labore” (Pray and Work), is more than just a motto—it is the
foundation of our faith and philosophy. It reflects our deep belief that
a fulfilling and purposeful life is achieved through the harmonious
integration of prayer and diligent effort.
Faith in Action
We believe that prayer alone is not enough. As the scripture reminds
us, “Faith without actions is dead” (James 2:26). While prayer
provides the spiritual strength and guidance we need, it is through
work that we bring our faith to life and positively impact the world
around us. Our community strives to emulate this principle daily by
combining spiritual devotion with meaningful actions.
Prayer: The Foundation of Peace
Prayer is central to everything we do. It connects us to God,
strengthens our values, and fosters peace within ourselves and our
community. At St. Benedicts Arror, we encourage our learners and
staff to approach every task with a prayerful heart, seeking God’s
wisdom and grace in all endeavors.
Work: A Form of Worship
Work is not just an obligation; it is a sacred duty and a form of
worship. Whether it is in academics, community service, or personal
growth, we believe that putting effort into our responsibilities is a way
of glorifying God. Every task, no matter how small, is an opportunity
to serve others, honor our faith, and build a better future.

THE HISTORY OF ST. BENEDICT’S SCHOOL OF PEACE-ARROR
ST. BENEDICT’S SCHOOL OF PEACE was established in the year 2008 by some church
leaders led by Fr. Joel Wafula. The members saw the necessity of having a Premier
School in Arror Parish, which could serve as a centre of academic excellence under the
guidance of the Arror Catholic Parish. The school is founded on Christian values which
has gone a long way to producing pupils who are disciplined and morally upright.
As a school fraternity, we are greatly and deeply indebted to Fr. Joel Wafula, Mr. Abra-
ham Kiptoo, Mr. Elias Rotich, Mr. Paul Yego, Madam Dinah Mosop, Mr. Paul Kibet and
the late Elias Posta (May his soul R.I.P) for coming up with the idea to start this school.
The school was started with the initial population of only 7 pupils and the number has
grown over the years. Today, we have a population of 435. St. Benedict School of
Peace is located near Arror Centre in Arror Ward.
As the name suggests, the founders wanted a name that suits PEACE (KALYA) school.
That is why the name of the school is called St. Benedicts School of Peace – Arror. That
could provide pupils from a section of Marakwet, Keiyo, Baringo and Pokot with a
conducive environment to learn and appreciate one another as brothers and sisters.
When banditry became a problem in Kerio Valley, schools and the church were the on-
ly option remaining to restore morality and respect that had been lost among our peo-
ple. Since 2017, the school has produced students who are highly regarded in various
High Schools, Colleges and Universities, across the country and other countries like Aus-
tralia. Most of them are the school.
The school sincerely owes immeasurable gratitude to the Diocesan Fathers namely: Fr.
Joel Wafula, Fr. Julius Basii, Fr. Alphas Talam, Fr. Andrew Kemboi and Fr. Felix Rotich.
they were instrumental in supporting the school when one father exited from Arror the
incoming one always continued to play a pivotal role in the school. Today, it is pleasing
and enriching to report that the school has a total of 435 pupils and 17 Teachers.

MESSAGE FROM REV. FR. ANTHONY KIMOSOP: THE SCHOOL DIRECTOR
As a Priest of Arror Parish, I am extremely proud of our Parish school. The school
Faculty and Staff are committed to educating the whole child spiritually,
academically, socially and physically. We welcome all children with our primary
goal to develop young Disciples of Christ within the Catholic faith tradition.
We rmly believe our mission as a Catholic School is to instill in all our pupils the
lesson that will prepare them not only for academic and career success, but also
for life success. As a priest, on of the great joys in my week is the school mass and
other opportunities I have to interact with our pupils and the staff. The Catholic
tradition involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is lived out in
community. We strive to help our children develop in both those areas by
cultivating a personal relationship with Jesus and a sense of community
responsibility.
The Catholic Church recognizes the need to offer pastoral and spiritual care to
their members as commissioned by our lord Jesus Christ for salvation of the
people of God. In more specialized way, the church provides that care to
established institutions such as schools. In this regard our school endeavors to
provide an enabling environment in which the pupils will hopefully grow into a
whole human person. The school therefore recognizes the need for services of
spiritual nature over and above the other services we offer.
As our holy father, Pope Francis stated that Catholic schools are much more than
a place to explain intellect. it is also a place where one learns that God loves us
that each and every one is gifted by God and every life matters. At St. Benedicts
School of Peace – Arror we aim to teach all disciplines in the light of the Gospel of
Jesus Christ. The formation of our boys and girls into teenage Disciples’ of Christ
by the end of 8th grade involves the entire person: Intellectual, physical,
emotional, psychological and spiritual. In order to see to it that we succeed in our
spiritual objectives, we value sacraments to our pupils. This is so because the
sacraments help to make one holy and build-up the body of Christ. They are a
way to relate to God throughout lives transitions and helps us to give praise and
worship to God. They help us nourish, strengthen and express our faith.
Sacraments point to our relation with Jesus, and our reliance upon the Holy Spirit, in a physical way.Simply diened a sacrament is an outward and visible
expression of the inward grace of Jesus. We prepare our pupils for baptism,
Eucharist, conrmation and confessions.
Thanks to the Benedictine Fathers who put up structure that made us not to
built some classes and also assisted to built dormitories and modern kitchen.
Many God bless them whenever they are: Fr. Benedict, Wilfred, Florian and Fr.
Wilfredcharles Yego.
Many pupils both from Catholic and non-Catholic backgrounds have become
successful as a result of the team work in the school. Thank you for choosing St.
Benedicts School of Peace – Arror.I know you will discover blessings here as you
make your way along the spiritual path before you.
